Best described as self-driven, a far-sighted individual with immense passion and dedication towards mountaineering, or adventure as a whole, Mr. Karma Geyljen Sherpa is the Founder and Chairman of Higher Path Treks & Expeditions.He is also Executive Chairman of Karma Project, From an early age, Mr. Sherpa was instigated by the thrill of the mountains. Having been brought up amidst the beautiful landscapes of Solukhumbu, Mr. Sherpa has immense pride and love towards the mountains and believes that “to travel is to live”. Sherpa has successfully climbed over eight summits including some of the highest peaks in the world such as Mount Everest, Manaslu, Ama Dablam, Dhaulagiri, Cho-Oyu, etc. several times. Mr. Sherpa has also excelled in various training courses, Trekking Guide Training course (2004), Mountain Climbing Basic and Advance training course (2005/ 06) and high mountain Rescue Training Course (2007) are to name a few. Apart from indulging himself in this field for 17 years, Sherpa shares an utmost love for his village and has been involved in numerous villages’ development projects such as micro-hydroelectric project, educational projects, health camps, supporting local guides and tourism. His leadership qualities, dedication, decisive nature, and empathy towards Mother Nature and his hometown are what has always helped him achieve his goals.
