As the name suggests “Peak Climbing” requires trekkers to summit a Himalayan peak. Peak climbing is both physically and technically challenging compared to the normal treks. Nepal is renowned for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Nepal has an average temperature of approximately 19 – 27 in summer and 2 to 12 in winter. It experiences moderate rainfall from June to August.

The most common equipment’s required for trekking and peak climbing are ice axe, crampons, rope, harness, tape slings, snow bar, helmet, jumar/ascender, and mountaineering boots.

Altitude sickness is a sickness that occurs at a high altitude place mostly ranging from 2000 m due to the deficiency in the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere. Altitude sickness results in mild headaches and might be life-threatening if not treated immediately and properly. During an altitude sickness do not ascent until the symptoms go away, drink extra water, rest, stay warm, descend to the lower altitude if possible and eat foods with high carbohydrates.

While traveling in rural areas, getting medical help can be quite challenging, hence keeping first aid on hand gives you the benefit to treat injuries effectively and avoid any complications.

The tea house is comparably a more luxurious stay compared to homestay and camping. They are basically lodges with comfy beds, food menu, and 24 hr. water facilities for the shower.

Camping is common accommodations in rural areas where tea houses are not available. It involves sleeping in a tent and participating in cooking the meals for yourself.

The chances of international flights getting canceled or delayed are quite low. Mostly domestic flights and mountain flights are delayed, but just for a few hours. However, there are no guarantees and season plays a huge role, which can be unpredictable. The helicopter flight is the options in case of internal flight delay.

For first time travelers, Kathmandu and Pokhara are the most suitable destinations as they are comparatively developed and has the variety of places to visit. The climate is moderate throughout the year and you have access to every facility. Additionally, Chitwan and Lumbini are also suitable but the weather gets quite hot in the summer. Annapurna and Everest region trekking is highly recommended for first-time travelers.

Spring season that ranges from March to May and autumn season that ranges from September to November are considered the most favorable seasons, especially for trekking. However, the climate is bearable almost throughout all the seasons and the country looks beautiful during the entire year.

Trekking depends on the feasibility of the climber, therefore, as to how long does a trek last totally depends on the time period, finances, health and mostly the demand of the trekker. Longest treks can last up to more than 20 days walk whereas there are short treks (3 days) that covers short distance and requires fewer days and low budget to complete.

Health and endurance to high altitude is a must for any trekking, but the level of extremity and elevation of the mountain determines the actual physical requirements. For example, if you need to be reasonably fit to climb the Everest Base Camp, you will need to be extra fit and experienced to do Manaslu circuit as the route is comparatively more strenuous and challenging.

In case of any emergency, helicopters are arranged for the travelers. However, the charges will have to be paid by the travelers.

Trekkers should arrive at least one to two days earlier than the day we start the trip to make sure you get time for preparation and to relax.
