Notes
Alternative Transportation Option
In case of flight cancellation, an alternative overland route is available:
This option is commonly used during bad weather or peak trekking seasons when flights are disrupted.
Optional Helicopter Upgrade
Kathmandu – Lukla – Kathmandu Helicopter Service
For greater comfort, flexibility, and to avoid possible flight delays, direct helicopter flights between Kathmandu and Lukla are available.
Helicopter flights are faster, more comfortable, and operate more reliably during unstable weather conditions compared to regular domestic flights.
Travel Recommendation
We strongly recommend keeping a few extra buffer days in your travel itinerary before international flights, especially during the busy spring and autumn trekking seasons, as weather-related delays in the Everest region are common.
Your Start Date is the day you land in Nepal, and your End Date is when you fly home.
If the set Gokyo EBC Budget Trek group dates don’t suit your schedule, we can offer alternative dates upon request.
An amazing and wonderful adventure. I can highly recommend Higher Path Treks and Expeditions, owner Karma Sherpa, and his professional team for any travelers going to Nepal. We were a group of 3 blending a climbing trip for my son and our friend to Phari Lapche and Cholatse along with a trek to Gokyo Ri, over Cho La pass, and to Kala Patthar for me. From our first greeting at the airport to our final departure Karma Sherpa and the Higher Path Treks and Expeditions team exhibited exceptional professionalism, flexibility, honesty and hospitality. A cyclone arrived on our first day in Kathmandu snarling all air traffic, in conjunction with a major holiday which impacted road travel. Karma was able to still get us up to Lukla to begin our trek using a broad network of contacts and his local experience to locate alternative transportation, when many travelers remained stuck in Kathmandu. From Lukla Karma’s professional guide Jangbu and assistant guide Parsu presented the same attributes and were just fun to be with. Our 3 porters were also full of humor and good advice, and I felt all of them were keeping an eye on us to make sure we were safe and experienced the best possible adventure. A highlight for me was photographing Himalayan Tar, Himalayan Musk deer, and the 9 colored Himalayan Monal at close range thanks to Parsu and porter Lhakpa who “knew where to look” and guided me to the perfect location. I look forward to returning to Nepal for another adventure with Karma and his team for I know it will be a wonderful experience
