For these routes, trekkers generally need two different permits: Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality (Local Government) Permit.

1. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit

• Foreign trekkers: NPR 3,000 per person

Manaslu Region Trekking Permits:

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal's most popular restricted-area treks. The route falls in a restricted area therefore trekkers need additional authorization from the department of immigration and a licensed trekking guide is mandatory for this trek. Required Manaslu trekking permits are:

1. Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP)

• September - November: USD 100 per person for a week and USD 15 per person beyond one week, 
• December - August: USD 75 per person for a week and USD 10 per day beyond one week

2. Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)

•  Foreign trekkers: NPR 3,000 Per person 

3. Chumnubri Rural Municipality (Local Government) Entry Permit

•  Foreign trekkers: NPR 1,000 Per person 

4. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)

• Foreign trekkers: NPR 3,000 per person

(ACAP is required when the itinerary enters the Annapurna Conservation Area).

Is a TIMS card required for Everest region trek?

The current Nepal Tourism Board has listed the Everest region as TIMS required trekking area. However, Everest region trekking has specific local arrangements under the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, where trekkers should obtain Local government (Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality) permit instead of TIMS.

Trekkers should carry sufficient Nepali Rupees because payment options can vary between checkpoints, and remote counters may not accept foreign currency or cards. 

Where can you get Trekking Permits in Nepal?

• National Park, Local Government (Municipality) and Conservation area permit: National park, Local Government (Municipality) and Conservation area permits can be obtained from authorized entry checkpoints in the relevant trekking regions.
