Throughout the Trekking route, climbers stay at comfortable local teahouses, with basic facilities, twin sharing rooms and warm dining room. For the Cholatse peak summit and preparation and climbing period accommodation is arranged in Tents at Cholatse Base Camp and High Camp, which our team will manage there.
During the trek teahouses serve a variety of meals including local and some international. Trekkers can choose meals of their choice at teahouses. vegetarian meals are healthy, fresh, nutritious and easy to digest. Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by a representative from your trekking agency. You will be transferred to your hotel in the bustling Thamel district, known for its vibrant atmosphere and array of shops and restaurants. After checking in, take some time to unwind and recover from your journey. In the afternoon, attend a pre-trek briefing where your guide will discuss the itinerary, safety protocols, and answer any questions you might have. The evening is free for you to explore Thamel’s narrow lanes, enjoy a hearty Nepali meal, and gather any last-minute supplies.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before, Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Manthali. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, covering a distance of about 130 kilometers. As you journey out of the city, you’ll witness a gradual change in scenery, transitioning from urban sprawl to lush green fields and rolling hills. The drive includes crossing several rivers and navigating winding roads with picturesque views of the landscape. Upon arrival in Manthali, check into a local guesthouse. Overnight in Manthali
Rise early for a short transfer to the nearby airport for your morning flight to Lukla. Today's trek will take you from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. The distance is around 12 kilometers, and the trek will take approximately 6-7 hours. The trail involves a steady ascent and several crossings of the Dudh Koshi River on suspension bridges. As you climb, the terrain becomes steeper, but you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Namche Bazaar, a bustling Sherpa town, sits at 3440 meters and serves as a vital acclimatization point. Upon arrival, check into your teahouse and explore the town's market, where you can find local crafts and delicious food.
Take a rest day in Namche Bazaar to help your body adjust to the altitude. This is a crucial acclimatization day, as it helps prevent altitude sickness. You can use the day to explore the town and its surroundings. Consider a hike to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest and other peaks. Alternatively, visit the local museum or monastery. The evening is for relaxing and preparing for the trek to Khumjung.
Today, the journey continues with a gentle but meaningful ascent from Namche Bazaar toward Khumjung via Hotel Everest View, one of the most culturally rich Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region. The trail first leads through quiet ridgelines above Namche, gradually opening into wide Himalayan panoramas where peaks like Thamserku and Khangteka dominate the skyline. As you move away from the busier trekking routes, the atmosphere becomes noticeably calmer, offering a deeper sense of connection with the mountains. Passing through juniper and pine forests, you may encounter grazing yaks and traditional stone-built huts that reflect centuries-old mountain life. From Dole, trek to Machhermo, located at 4470 meters. This segment of the trek covers about 8 kilometers and takes approximately 5 hours. The route gradually ascends through the valley, offering impressive views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Machhermo is a small village known for its clean air and excellent views. Upon arrival, check into your teahouse and take the afternoon to relax. Explore the village or simply enjoy the peaceful environment as you continue to acclimatize to the higher altitude.
Today’s trek will take you from Machhermo to Gokyo Lakes, situated at 4790 meters. The trek covers approximately 8 kilometers and takes about 3-4 hours. The trail ascends through alpine terrain and passes several stunning turquoise lakes, known collectively as the Gokyo Lakes. The scenery is breathtaking, with the clear blue lakes set against the backdrop of towering peaks. Once you arrive at Gokyo Lakes, check into your teahouse. Spend the afternoon exploring the area or simply relaxing and acclimating to the high altitude. Spend the day exploring the Gokyo Valley, which is essential for acclimatization and appreciating the area’s natural beauty.
In the morning hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) a peak that offers spectacular panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The hike to Gokyo Ri is about 2-3 hours round trip and provides one of the best views in the Everest region. Return to Gokyo, trek to Thagnak, which is situated at 4700 meters. This section of the trek covers approximately 4 kilometers and takes about 4 hours. The route is relatively straightforward, ascending through alpine meadows and rocky trail crossing Ngozumpa glacier. Thangnak is a small settlement with basic facilities, but it serves as a crucial stop before heading to Cholatse Base Camp. Once you arrive, settle into your teahouse and take some time to rest and acclimatize.
Recover from the approach trek, maintain acclimatization, prepare all climbing equipmenr, and practice essential technical skills before moving toward Cholatse Base Camp.
Begin your trek from Thagnak to Cholatse Base Camp, situated at 5000 meters. This trek covers approximately 5 kilometers and takes about 2-3 hours. The route involves a steady ascent and offers beautiful views of Cholatse and the surrounding peaks. Once you reach the base camp, set up your camp and acclimatize to the high altitude. Spend the evening preparing your climbing gear and reviewing your climbing strategy with your guide. Enjoy a meal and rest in preparation for the climbing period.
Today Trek up to crampon point and climb to Cholatse High Camp which stands at 5700 meters. The climbing team will follow a structured schedule that includes acclimatization climbs, rest periods, and weather-dependent summit pushes. Your climbing team will manage all aspects of the climb, ensuring that you are well-prepared for each stage of the ascent.
Today is dedicated to the summit attempt of Cholatse (6,440 meters). After reaching the summit of Cholatse, descend back to Cholatse High Camp. Overnight at the High Camp.
Today trek back to Machermo, located at 4470 meters. The descent is generally easier, but still requires careful navigation. Upon arrival, Machhermo, check into your teahouse and enjoy a relaxing evening. Celebrate your successful climb and take time to unwind.
Reserved for unforeseen delays due to weather, route condition, or team health following the summit. if not required, the expedition will continue with the planned descent.
Trek from Machhermo back to Namche Bazaar, covering approximately 18 kilometers in about 6-7 hours. The trail descends through lush pine and rhododendron forests. As you approach Namche, you’ll notice the familiar surroundings of the bustling town. Check into your teahouse and spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the amenities of Namche. Reflect on your adventure and perhaps do some last-minute shopping or exploration.
Today’s trek will take you from Namche Bazaar back to Lukla, covering a distance of approximately 19 kilometers over 6-7 hours. The trail descends through dense forests and crosses several rivers before gradually climbing towards Lukla. Upon arriving in Lukla, check into your teahouse and rest. This marks the end of your trekking journey. Enjoy a final evening in the Himalayas and prepare for your flight back to Manthali and drive to Kathmandu.
Early in the morning, take a flight from Lukla to Manthaki. The flight takes approximately 30 minutes and offers a final aerial view of the Himalayan range. Upon arrival in Manthali, drive to Kathmandu (5-6 hours). Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your Hotel. Enjoy a celebratory dinner in a local restaurant, recounting your adventure and achievements.
Today is free day. You have time for exploring Kathmandu city, shopping or simple relaxing.
On your final day in Kathmandu, check out of your hotel and transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure flight. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to make any last-minute purchases or enjoy a final meal in the city.
