Overview of Mt. Himlung Expedition
Mount Himlung with an altitude of 7126m is located at western region of Nepal (between Manaslu and Annapurna ranges). This expedition route goes through the remote villages of Nepal and Tibet border which passes through high pass, beautiful forests, glaciers, monasteries, remote villages, unique cultural settlements. You can observe the mysterious cultures of the Tibetan people and their spiritual connection with the high Himalayas. The trail also offers us the panoramic views of giants snow capped peaks including Rajramba, Nandadevi, Mount Api and many more.
The first ascent was made by Mr. Akio Koizumi from Japan on 3rd Oct, 1992. So on, the second ascent was made ten years after the first ascent by a French expedition team in 2002. Due to its amazing features of this region, travelers will experience off the beaten path, mysterious culture and majestic mountain views.
However, the climb of Mount Himlung is considered as less technical compared to other trekking peaks of Nepal. Even though it is technically easy, it does require a high level of fitness.
