- Itinerary to join the 2019 International Everest Expedition in Nepal
- Day 1
Arrive in Kathmandu O/n at hotel
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will receive you and escort to your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight stay t a hotel in Kathmandu.
- Day 2
Today, we’ll prepare the necessary documents in order for you to climb the Everest. It includes climb permit, national park permits, waste disposal, logistical papers, and contract. We will be taking, photos and other credentials in order to complete the necessary documents.
- Day 3
Everest Expedition briefing
You will meet your Sherpa guide and the rest of the team. Here, you’ll receive the necessary information about the expedition, itinerary, weather conditions, logistical support, insurance detail, staff, meals, and other details. You will be introduced to the region and highlights of the expedition. We’ll also take questions from you and provide necessary answers. Later, you can explore the local places and prepare for the journey. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
- Day 4
Fly to Lukla and trek start to Everest Base Camp
The scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla lasts around 25 minutes. The flight offers you some of the greatest sceneries of the mountains. Lukla Airport is branded as one of the most dangerous airports in the world; hence, landing here can definitely be a fun experience. Following the arrival at Lukla, you will prepare for the journey to the Base Camp. Overnight stay at a lodge at Lukla.
- Day 5- 11
Arrive Everest Base Camp
A week-long trek will take you from Lukla to the Everest Base Camp. You’ll pass through some of the popular Sherpa villages in the region, namely; Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Pheriche. As the trek advances from 2000m to 5000m within a matter of days, acclimatizing during the trek becomes necessary. You’ll get enough time to rest and acclimatize during the trek. Overnight stay at the tented camp at Everest Base Camp upon arrival.
- Day 12-15
: Rest and Preparation
The 4 days interval is kept for you to rest and acclimatize at the Everest Base Camp. The thin air in the 5000m+ altitude can cause difficulties during the climb. So, you acclimatize to the region and conduct practice sessions for the journey. Here, you get to meet climbers from other teams, share information, consult with your guide and staff, and moreover, prepare yourself mentally before the climb. - Day 16-62
: Everest Climbing Expedition periods
The climb begins the early morning. The team will be led by our mountaineering leader, followed by assistant guides and climbers. The expedition staff will climb at their own pace and prepare tents before your arrival. The initial hurdle begins with the crossing of the notorious Khumbu icefall up to Camp I at 6200m. The trail goes through multiple crevasses, ridges and falls towards Camp II at 6600m in the middle of the Western Crown.
From Camp II, you climb up the Lhotse face to Camp III at 7200m. A rigorous climb is required to cross South Col to reach Camp IV at 8000m, from where you’ll push for the final summit. The final push begins before the dawn breaks as it takes longer to reach the summit. It can be a challenging task to cross the Hillary step as there is only a single ladder facilitating the access to the summit’s ridge, hence, only one climber passes through at a time. You get to reach the summit when it’s still morning. Almost every major and minor peaks are visible from the top, including; Lhotse (8414m), Ama Dablam (6856m) and Makalu (8463m) and the myriad of peaks. The view and the overwhelming feeling is the one that will remain with you throughout your life. After enjoying the glorious moment at the top of the world, you’ll make your way back to Camp III, from where you’ll start descending towards the base camp.
- Day 63-65
Retrace to Lukla
The completion of the climb is always a joyous experience. The party will immediately follow after you get down to the base camp. Everyone will be joyous and wishing each other. The next day, you’ll start descending towards Lukla. We will retrace the path back to Lukla. Making way to Lukla, we pass through many Sherpa villages with the company of the majestic peaks looming on the horizon. Overnight stay at Lukla upon arrival
- Day 66
Fly to Kathmandu
You may feel overwhelmed while flying out of Lukla. It’s always difficult to bid adieu to the special places. During the flight, you will catch the last glimpse of the Everest. The short flight will bring you back to Kathmandu and our representative will drop you off at your hotel. You can rest in your hotel upon arrival to take a proper rest. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
- Day 67-68
You can choose to spend the additional day at Kathmandu exploring the city and visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites, or relaxing at your hotel. The vicinity of the hotel also offers many great shops, a spa, and diners, where you can spend a quality time. You can visit some famous and revered places in the city like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and durbar squares in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. Stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
- Day 69
We’ll drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport so you can catch your scheduled flight back home. Our representative will take you to the airport, approximately 2 hours early. You can share your trip experience or your next adventure with us on the way.
