Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from your tour operator. After clearing customs and collecting your luggage, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a chance to settle into your room, unwind, and freshen up after your journey.

If you arrive early in the day, take a leisurely walk around Thamel, a popular area known for its vibrant atmosphere, bustling markets, and diverse dining options. Thamel offers a variety of shops where you can purchase last-minute supplies or souvenirs. For dinner, you might want to try a local restaurant to sample traditional Nepali dishes such as momo (dumplings) or dal bhat (lentil soup with rice). Return to your hotel for a good night’s rest, preparing for the exciting journey to Chitwan National Park the next day.

Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, check out and begin your journey to Chitwan National Park. The drive typically takes around 5 to 6 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. As you leave Kathmandu, the urban landscape gradually gives way to the lush greenery of the Terai region. Enjoy the changing scenery as you pass through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and winding roads.

Upon arrival at Chitwan National Park, check in to your chosen lodge or resort. The accommodations are typically nestled in or near the park, offering a blend of comfort and immersion in nature. After a welcome drink and lunch, take some time to relax and explore the lodge’s surroundings.

In the late afternoon, you’ll receive a briefing on the park’s wildlife and the activities planned for your stay. This is followed by an introductory nature walk or a canoe ride on the Rapti River, providing an early glimpse of the park’s diverse ecosystems. Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner, and enjoy the tranquility of the jungle as you prepare for the adventure-filled days ahead.

Day 3 : Jungle Activities and Tharu Cultural Program

Start your day with an early breakfast, then full day of jungle activities. Begin with a guided jeep safari or an elephant-back safari, where you'll have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife, including the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, and various species of deer. The expert guides will provide insights into the park's flora and fauna, enhancing your wildlife viewing experience.

After an exhilarating morning safari, return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch. In the afternoon, participate in a nature walk led by a knowledgeable naturalist. This walk offers a closer look at the park’s flora and smaller wildlife, and provides valuable insights into the ecological balance of the jungle.

As evening approaches, prepare for an engaging Tharu Cultural Program. The Tharu people, indigenous to the Terai region, will perform traditional dances and music, showcasing their vibrant cultural heritage. Enjoy a dinner featuring local delicacies as you watch the performances, which include colorful costumes and rhythmic dances. This cultural immersion provides a deeper understanding of the local traditions and way of life.
